Erin Napier Ends Pregnancy Rumors: ‘Not Expecting a Baby’
By Movieguide® Contributor
HGTV star Erin Napier tackled pregnancy rumors head-on in a recent Instagram Story where she shared multiple thoughts after an exhausting weekend.
“Thoughts from an exhausted mama after one child had a stomach bug weekend,” she wrote. “Not expecting a baby. Medically not capable, so please give that a rest? We don’t need a son to be complete as a family and I just like loose clothes. Let it beeeeeee, you sweet people.”
Along with addressing the pregnancy rumors, Napier shared a snapshot of what the stomach bug weekend looked like.
“BLUEY 4ever (watched the sign 3 times, cried out eyes out. #heirloom rooms),” she said, adding, “I eat too many Grillo’s pickles, it’s an addiction. I want to do better and eat less sodium (I guess?) but not that bad.”
Napier also expressed her gratitude for her husband, who shared the load of taking care of a sick child, handling perhaps the worst part.
“God bless @scotsman.co who has sanitized so much laundry with me this weekend.”
Erin and Ben share two daughters, Mae and Helen. Their family is the most important thing to both of them, and they work tirelessly to give their girls the best childhood possible. One of the biggest ways they do that is by keeping them off of social media.
The couple, like many celebrities, have stated they won’t let their children create social media and be in the public eye until they graduate high school. Instead, they focus their children on engaging with the world around them rather than worrying about what strangers are saying online.
They even created an organization—Osprey—to help connect parents taking a similar approach so their children can have a community of friends living similar lives and not feel like they are missing out because everyone they know is on social media.
“Forming a circle of families and friends who are in this together when your kids are little, linking arms and doing what it takes to give your kids the gift of a social media free adolescence is the only way the change the culture,” Napier said shortly after the launch of Osprey. “For the TWENTY THOUSAND parents who’ve already joined the Osprey newsletter after my post last month, we have a vision and a plan to give our kids support that starts now and takes them through high school graduation. Let’s make old school the new way.”

HGTV star Erin Napier confirmed that her children will not be on social media and shared why she’s made that decision.
“I think there are just masses of us who are millennials who started college or finished high school around the time social media began. So we clearly see what life is like connected in the digital age, but when we were more mature and could handle it — and we still see how difficult it is,” she told PEOPLE. “I think that’s a perspective Gen X isn’t familiar with. They didn’t know what could come with that and let their kids have phones young without knowing.”
“I think we’re going to see a huge change with parents that are millennials. I don’t have a single friend who is open to letting their child have access to a smartphone before the age of 16,” she added. “It’s not something we all discussed and decided on together. It’s something we just know. It’s not what our kids need.”
