Everything We Know About Chick-fil-A’s Entertainment App

It’s really happening. Chick-fil-A has entered the entertainment space and will release content as early as November.
The beloved fast-food chain previously announced its move into entertainment earlier this year, but the company just dropped new details.
Chick-fil-A Play will launch on Nov. 18 with a handful of original content, including animated shows “EVERGREEN HILLS and CHICK-FIL-A COWS, scripted podcasts including Hidden Island, a handful of cooking shows and interactive stories,” Deadline reported.
“Chick-fil-A® is creating new ways for families to have fun, connect and spend time together with the launch of its new app: Chick-fil-A Play. Designed for parents and kids to share and experience together whether they’re enjoying a meal at home, in the drive-thru, or anywhere in-between, the free app will be loaded with a wide variety of content and original entertainment for all ages to enjoy,” the company said.
“Hospitality and fun have always been at the core of the Chick-fil-A family experience, whether inside our restaurants and play areas, or through our Kids Meals,” said the company’s executive director of brand strategy, Dustin Britt, in a press release. “The Chick-fil-A Play App is a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining ‘Play’ for our guests, in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together.”
Unlike other entertainers, Chick-fil-A’s app won’t require a subscription.
The company’s foray into entertainment doesn’t necessarily mean it will create content related to its brand. Rather, it aims to create content that “entertains our kids & family audience” and matches the “vision, heartbeat, and positioning of the Chick-fil-A brand,” the company said. “The Chick-fil-A brand has a very specific and nuanced approach, and content will need to be carefully and thoughtfully brought to life in such a way that audiences both internal and external can quickly say, ‘That feels like Chick-fil-A,’” it continued.
