Wonder Project’s HOUSE OF DAVID is the number one show on Prime Video, and the studio couldn’t be happier.
“WE ARE #1 on @primevideo 🙌🔥🙏… @watchwonderproject ‘s first release and you all made it #1. We are SO grateful. All glory to God for this one. 🙏” the Wonder Project shared on Instagram on Friday. “Thank you all for watching & now we’re ready to binge all 8 episodes 😅 Are you binging this weekend?!”
“Goliath wins!! @martynfordofficial Can’t believe we are #1!! 🔥🔥🤯 on @primevideo,” said showrunner and co-writer Jon Erwin on Friday, tagging the show’s “Goliath,” Martyn Ford.
“This is INCREDIBLE 🔥” Ford commented in response.
HOUSE OF DAVID’s triumph is great news for the faith-based film world. It’s easy to see why the show has had much success. It displays wholesome values and is founded on a scriptural story that many people are familiar with.
The series follows David as he transforms from a boy into the chosen king. As Saul loses his throne, David must rise to the occasion but faces many trials in the process.
Movieguide®’s review says, “The ultimate question for movies and programs like HOUSE OF DAVID, however, is, does the work reflect the spirit of the original material? In the case of the first three episodes of HOUSE OF DAVID, the answer is in the affirmative.”
The show’s finale just premiered on Thursday. Amazon recently greenlit Season 2, so fans will eventually get to see more of David’s story in the coming days.

“Thanks to them and our partners at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, Wonder Project will bring more of the Bible and this epic saga to a global audience. Congratulations to our incredible cast and crew,” said co-writers Jon Gunn and Jon Erwin.
The second season is already in development, and a large new set is under construction.
Erwin recently hinted that many fans are on the right track as far as what the plot’s details might be.
“If you want to begin to speculate now, [to] talk about what you think the second season is going to be…Many of you are getting it really, really right,” he told them on Instagram.
Deadline reports that Season 2 will pick up after the fight between David and Goliath, capturing his rise to the throne. The themes include romance, David’s family’s jealousy and his transformation into a great leader.
There’s no official release date for Season 2 yet, but Forbes estimates it will launch in summer 2026.
