Falcons’ Punter Bradley Pinion: Prayer, Encounter With Angel Brought Him to Christ

Atlanta Falcons punter Bradley Pinion shared how a prayer and an encounter with an angel helped him decide to follow Christ.

While he grew up going to church, Pinion didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus.

“But when trying to decide on which college to attend, he realized he hadn’t prayed in a really long time, so he asked God for help,” Sports Spectrum reported.

The next day, “I go down to the practice field, and I’m kicking, I’m punting the ball, I’m having a good workout and the next thing I know, I see a Prius pull up and this large man gets out of it,” Pinion explained in an “I Once Was” video.

“It just didn’t feel right. I’m kicking, and next thing I know, he’s walking onto the practice field, and he goes, ‘Hey. Are you the kicker for Northwest Cabarrus High School?’ and I’m like really thrown off. I go, ‘Yeah, I am.” And he was like, ‘Well, I’m a pastor from Statesville, North Carolina, and an angel came to me in a dream last night. I needed to come talk to the kicker at Northwest Cabarrus High School,” he shared.

“We processed to talk. He shared a bunch of life wisdom with me,” Pinion added. “As he goes to leave, I shake his hand and between shaking his hand, I turn around to pick up a football, and I turn back around, and there was nothing there. At that point I just have this overwhelming emotion.”

“As I drive seven minutes home, that’s when it hit me,” Pinion concluded. “I prayed that prayer and that Jesus had sent me an angel. Right then and there is when I decided to give my life completely to Christ and to follow Him and to serve Him. Because if He was going to impact such a small decision in my life for such a big cause, then why wouldn’t I give my complete life to Him?”

Since then, his relationship with Christ has continued to impact his life.

He frequently shares Bible verses on his Instagram page. The punter recently posted a photo of him and a few other players and coaches praying before a game.

The punter wrote, “For his glory not my own! Rise up! It’s freaking Game Day! ‘Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!’ Psalm 34:3.”

He also uses his platform to spread the Gospel. Movieguide® previously reported:

Despite their disappointing season so far, Atlanta Falcons punter Bradley Pinion continues to preach the name of Jesus, on and off the field.

Pinion recently wore cleats championing Compassion International for the “My Cause My Cleats” initiative that the NFL began in 2016.

Pinion and his wife, Kaeleigh, support Compassion International’s mission to “release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.”

“We were pretty interested in partnering with them from the beginning,” Kaeleigh told AtlantaFalcons.com. “We knew we wanted to make a pretty big impact.”

“We fell in love with their mission and their purpose of spreading the Gospel across the world,” Bradley added.
