FAST X: PART 2 Returns Franchise to LA: ‘Where We Started’

FAST X: PART 2 will release in 2026, and the franchise is returning to its roots, according to its star Vin Diesel.
“25 years ago on the streets of Los Angeles, we created something that became bigger than any of us could have imagined. Not just a movie — but a family that stretches across the globe,” Diesel shared in a post on Instagram along with a video of him driving down the Pacific Coast Highway.
“Being on PCH, filming this Super Bowl spot, brought it all rushing back. The same stretch of coast where Pablo and I raced 25 years ago, practical driving, living those moments that would change our lives forever,” the actor continued. “Now here we are again, Dom and Letty sharing that coastal sunset moment, surrounded by local crew members I haven’t seen in years…”
Diesel explained why he and others felt FAST X: PART 2 needed to be filmed in Los Angeles.
“We’ve all felt that FAST needs to come back to LA. Not just because it’s where we started, but because it’s who we are,” he wrote. “Now, seeing our city hurting after these devastating fires, that pull is stronger than ever…
“To every fan who’s made this decades long journey with us — this one’s for you,” Diesel concluded. “And to Los Angeles, our first home, our heart — we’re coming back. The engines are revving, the family’s gathering, and these streets are calling us home. Back where those quarter-mile races with Brian became legend, where every sunset holds a story. The saga’s coming full circle, and my heart is already racing…”

Many fans commented on the post expressing their excitement for the sequel film.
“100% the greatest movie series ever created,” one person wrote.
Another said, “Yes! I’ve been there from the start. Love fast and furious. Miss Paul though.”

FAST X: PART TWO is the sequel to 2023’s FAST X, and according to PEOPLE, the sequel is rumored to be the final movie in the franchise.
FAST X contains some impressive action sequences. The chase sequence involving the bomb headed to Vatican City is very exciting. FAST X increases the personal stakes in the franchise by having the villain target Dom’s son. Cleverly, the filmmakers link Dom’s protection of his son with overt references to faith and Jesus. The movie promotes family, honor and sacrifice. FAST X has significantly less foul language than recent FAST & FURIOUS movies, but it’s still slightly excessive. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution.

“I hope with the last one – if it is the last one – that it kind of goes back to the first one’s roots,” said star Jordana Brewster, “because that one, that and five are my favorite, so I would love for it to have that same feel.”
