FBI Star Details ‘Pretty Intense’ Upcoming Episode You Won’t Want to Miss
By Movieguide® Contributor
Missy Peregrym is giving us all the details on the latest episode of FBI, from an important investigation to a potential new romance.
“This one is fun,” she told TV Insider of the episode, revealing some details about the episode’s storyline — when an undercover agent is killed, the team discovers that the identities of several undercover agents have been compromised, including Peregrym’s character Maggie, who is currently undercover with the very group that killed the agent.
Peregrym explained, “When the team learns that Maggie is one of those agents, they can’t get to her right away to give her the heads up! When you’re undercover and out of reach, you’re the one who has to call in every six or so hours, which she can’t here…She has no idea what’s going on around her and that she’s potentially in trouble.”
“Obviously, this is a really dangerous situation, and it gets worse fast,” the actress teased. “I will say that it affects her personal life — I can’t give away too much, but it does affect her life.”
Speaking of Maggie’s personal life — Peregrym shared some details about the agent’s blossoming romance with Joel, a 9-1-1 dispatcher.
“She’s seeing if things can work out with Joel,” she shared. “She’s kind of just exploring that…There’s something really interesting about how she’s connecting with somebody who understands her and her line of work to a certain degree. It’s a pretty intense job, the one he also has, and this is the first time that I’ve ever got to play that connection.”
In another interview with TV Insider, Peregrym teased, “She’s made her job her priority after her husband died [before the show’s storyline began], but having Ella has opened her heart up again…so we’ll see.”
A new character is also joining the team on FBI. Dani Rhodes, played by Emily Alabi, will help the team figure out who was responsible for the info leak.
“Going undercover is her expertise,” Peregrym explained. “She gets pulled out of the situation she’s in early on and helps the rest of the team solve this case. She’ll definitely be in the rest of the season and she’ll become Stuart Scola’s [John Boyd] latest partner.”
She continued, “I think she’s got a fire to her that I really like. She’s very confident and in a different world than what we deal with all the time. You’ve got the job, and then you have the field agent. Since she’s somebody who works undercover, that’s mostly her thing. What we’re discovering right now is, what does it look like for her to be a part of our team with such a different set of experiences?”

FBI might be getting another spin-off, but that’s still up in the air.
Deadline reported that the tentatively titled FBI: CIA, was set “to be introduced in an episode of the mothership series this spring serving as a backdoor pilot.”
“According to sources, that is no longer happening. But the new spinoff could still join the mothership on the 2025-2026 schedule with a straight-to-series order,” the outlet continued, adding that casting for a male lead is ongoing.
