Feeling Low on Faith? Danny Gokey Shares Biblical Solution

Danny Gokey dug into the connection between faith and love on his social media last week.

“Are you feeling low on faith??? 😞,” Gokey shared in an Instagram caption Saturday. “The Word of God has a solution for that, and it comes down to the Love of God! 💟He loved us so much that He gave His only Son for us 🙌”

“I feel like there’s a lot of people right now who feel low on faith and don’t know what to do about that,” he said in the video. “Now there’s a solution in the word of God. It’s actually very easy. It’s this: if you have low faith, it typically means…you’re low on the love of God. Because the Bible says faith works through love.”

The “Haven’t Seen It Yet” singer explained that faith and love go hand and hand.

“If faith was the engine, the love of God is the gasoline that gives it the power to move forward, and here’s what I mean by that — when you heard about the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, how a man who was God, who was sinless, who was perfect in all His ways, laid His life down for you and I, who were sinful, who didn’t love him back, what did that do? Inspired faith for you to raise your hand, to move to the front, to make Jesus the Lord of your life,” Gokey said.

“The answer to low faith is not praying more and white-knuckling more and reading the word of God in a religious way. Now listen, reading the word of God is good. Praying is good. But the answer to that [is] that you read the word of God through the lens of his love. Why?”

Gokey then quoted John 3:16, which says, “16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

He explained that prayers shouldn’t be forceful or “bending God’s arm” to listen.

“He already wants to answer our prayers. We need to be filled up with the love of God so that our faith is at all-time highs and we can speak to mountains, speak to sicknesses and speak to our financial situations and watch them change.”

“You remember that saying that ‘hurt people hurt people’? This is even better: loved people love other people. Hope this helps.”

He finished in the caption: “Let THAT inspire you to deeper love and higher faith! As your faith grows, so will your ability to believe God for more, and to love others more! ⛽️ So, fill your tank with love today, and watch how your faith will grow!”

Gokey often shares about topics like this, and his song “Stand in Faith” speaks to never giving up on God and persisting in faith at the hardest of times.

Last year he shared, “Faith is kind of a big deal to God. The Bible says it’s the evidence of things not seen, and it’s what God uses to multiply His people, win victories, and work all things for the good of those who have it! ✨” He encouraged his followers, ‘Keep pressing in and believing for the healing, the change, the miracle in your life!”
