Former Miss USA Spills Her Secret to Finding Godly Husband

By Movieguide® Contributor

Former Miss USA, Nia Sanchez, and her husband, Daniel Booko, are talking about what it looks like to find and build a God-honoring relationship.

In a recent YouTube video, the couple responded to a fan who asked, “As a single Christian woman, how do we find a godly man in today’s society?”

“As a single Christian woman, which I am not, but I have been, my best advice is to literally just pursue God wholeheartedly, and when you’re on that path of pursuing God, the right man will happen to join you on that path,” THE VALLEY star began. “That’s really how it ended up working out for us.”

Sanchez remembered that she got to the point where she wasn’t “looking for me anymore.”

“If God brings the right one into my life, I’ll be ready for it,” she said. “I got myself ready first. I was pursuing God and my relationship with God and who I wanted to be in God.”

For her and her husband, it was about patience and trusting in God’s timing.

“Everything else kind of fell into place, and we met each other at church,” Sanchez said. “Really a lot of it is the patience game and just pursuing a relationship with God and then he will put the man in your life at the right time because Daniel and I always say, like, if we had met each other six months earlier, we wouldn’t have been ready for each other. It’s all God’s timing.”

The couple share three kids together. In a recent Easter post, Sanchez talked about what it looks like to parent a gaggle of little ones.

“Embracing my wild mom life era ? we’ve always gotten the cutest pics with Asher,” she began to write. “But getting all 3 to look cute is impossible without photoshop.? lol.

“This season of life is beyond exhausting and takes EVERYTHING out of me,” she added. “But I wouldn’t trade it for the world. These moments with my children while they are so little is precious to me.”

Movieguide® previously reported on how Sanchez held onto her faith while working the pageant circuit:

Former Miss USA and THE VALLEY star Nia Sanchez recently sat down with fellow pageant queen Kristen Dalton Wolfe to discuss how they lean on their faith while competing.

“We’ve had tons of Bible studies together, tons of church things together,” Sanchez said of the pair’s friendship.

Sanchez and Wolfe met on the pageant circuit. Both went on to be crowned Miss USA—Sanchez in 2014 and Wolfe in 2009.

When asked about advice Wolfe had for aspiring pageant contestants who are unsure of sharing their faith while competing, she emphasized authenticity.

“I think when I gave talks, talks in schools, I just integrated [my faith] as it had to do with my story,” she explained. “I think anytime you’re sharing a personal story or personal experience, no one can get mad.”
