GAF Continues Hot Streak, Fastest-Growing Network 9 Months Straight

Family-friendly network Great American Family (GAF) maintained its number one spot as the fastest-growing network for the last nine months.
GAF was the fastest-growing network in 2022, and if its streak continues, it is on track to take that title again in 2023.
“Great American Family is TV’s fastest-growing network for the ninth consecutive month after closing out July up 143% in Total Day Household ratings and leading all networks in year-over-year viewership increases,” the network announced.
“According to Nielsen Media Research, Great American Family also retained its position as TV’s fastest-growing network in 2023 to-date with the largest gains in Total Day Households (+165%) and Total Viewers (+161%); and Primetime Households (+141%) and Total Viewers (+139%),” the network added.
Christian Headlines reported, “In July, Great American Family also ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (up 139 percent) compared to July 2022, according to the data.”

Great American Family closed out Fourth Quarter 2022 as the fastest-growing network in all of cable television. In only its second year, the emerging leader in original Christmas movies ranked #1 in Total Day ratings growth in Households (+113%), People 18-49 (+100%) and Total Viewers (+116%), and #1 in Primetime ratings growth in Households (+128%) among all cable networks.
GAF’s success has garnered attention from news outlets, including People.
“Great American Family (formerly known as GAC Family) has been making waves since it launched in September 2021…The cable channel first caught the eye of Christmas movie fans after it announced that several of [Hallmark Channel’s] stars would be making the jump over to Great American Family, including Danica McKellar and Trevor Donovan, who signed on in October 2021,” People said.
Movieguide® previously reported on GAF’s “Great American Summer,” which features eight original movies. The next movie to be released is a romance called SUMMERTIME SOULMATES, which will premiere on August 19.
