GAF Favorite Joins WHEN HOPE CALLS Cast

Great American Family has just announced that Trevor Donovan will be joining the cast of WHEN HOPE CALLS!
“We’re excited to announce that Trevor Donovan has been added to the cast of WHEN HOPE CALLS!” the network posted on Instagram. “@trevordonovan plays Constable Jim Reynolds, an experienced Mountie based in Clearwater in a two-episode story arc for Season 2.”
While Donovan has only been confirmed for two episodes, Deadline hypothesized that his “role may be extended on WHEN HOPE CALLS, if not other projects inspired by Oke’s ‘When Calls the Heart’ book series.”
WHEN HOPE CALLS is a spin-off of the popular WHEN CALLS THE HEART series and follows sisters Lillian Walsh and Grace Bennett as they live and work in the town of Brookfield in 1916.
“It’s centered on the town’s orphanage and its residents who meet tremendous challenges while creating a hopeful, faith-filled community on the cusp of change in the frontier town while nurturing the children in their care,” a synopsis of the show reads.
However, as the show returns for a second season, there are a few shake-ups in store — Grace has moved to London, while Lillian’s Season 1 love interest, Chuck, has also departed Brookfield.
“There are eight episodes in season two, and while the opening episodes pay homage to the romance of ‘Lillian’ and ‘Mountie Gabriel,’ new characters are introduced that are seminal to the orphanage and children, the sprawling farms and ranchlands, and to the town of Brookfield who welcome a new Constable from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, ‘Mountie Michael,’” a press release from GAF reads.
TV Line reported that “production is currently underway with an eye on a January 2025 debut.”

Season 2 of WHEN HOPE CALLS is finally coming to Great American Family nearly five years after Season 1 premiered.
To help you get through the post-Christmas blues, WHEN HOPE CALLS Season 2 will premiere in January 2025 as filming gets underway later this month.

Season 1 of WHEN HOPE CALLS premiered in February 2020, followed by a Christmas special in 2021 that saw Lori Loughlin reprise her WHEN CALLS THE HEART role of Abigail Stanton.
