New York Giants Wide Receiver Isaiah Hodgins had eight catches and a career high 105 receiving yards in his first-ever playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings on Jan. 15.
Before this, Hodgins had only two games under his belt where he had more than five catches and 50-receiving yards.
“It just means a lot, man,” Hodgins told reporters after the game. “First playoff game, to be able to go out there with my brothers and just execute like we did. Hard fought, four-quarter game, and we fought all the way to the end.”
The wildcard round win is the first playoff victory for the Giants since 2012, when they won the Super Bowl.
Hodgins also showed his gratitude to God after his performance on Sunday versus the Vikings.
“God brought me a long way man,” he wrote in a tweet. “Without him I wouldn’t even be playing today. Thankful to be apart of this team.”

In a past interview with Go Long’s Tyler Dunne, he credited his faith in God and his family for the foundation and values he keeps even in the NFL.
“I would definitely credit my father and my upbringing,” he told Dunne. “Both of my parents did a great job of making sure I stayed dedicated to things that I love and honoring God with it. But most importantly: never quitting. My dad played in the NFL so I got to see him and some of the stuff he went through and hear a lot of his stories.”
“I leaned on my support system: my wife, my family, God,” he added. “A lot of prayer and a lot of trust just knowing He was going to guide me and take me where He wanted me.”
The Giants will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the next round of the playoffs on Saturday, Jan. 21.
