God Rescued YouTuber from Addiction — This Is His Story

YouTube star Chandler Hallow is sharing his testimony.
“I grew up in a Christian household,” he said in a recent TikTok. “I gave my life to God…but I never really had a relationship with God.”
Hallow explained that, once he started college, he started to “stray” from God, getting into drugs, alcohol and partying. Following college, Hallow moved back to his hometown and continued his hard-partying ways.
“I’m not going to church, I’m not reading the Word…but I do pray every night,” he said. “I would actually pray that God would do something in my life, but I would still be in the cycle of sin that I was doing.”
One day, Hallow was feeling “depressed [and] lonely,” smoking marijuana in his kitchen.
“And then God said something to me,” he recalled. “He goes, ‘What are you doing?’ And in that moment, I snap out of some trance that I was in, and it’s like God just peeled the scales off my eyes and I could see what I was doing.”
Hallow continued, “In that moment, I threw everything away…and from that moment on, I started to actually develop a relationship with Jesus and it changed my life.”
He explained that he was “set free” from his drug and alcohol addictions, saying, “God put desires…to follow His will in my heart.”
“God just told me to share my testimony,” Hallow concluded. “Hopefully, someone can use that to pull themselves out of the cycle of sin that they are living in and get closer to God.”
Hallow often shares his faith on social media.
In a 2023 tweet, he wrote, “I would not be where I am today if people didn’t pray for me…if you would like prayer DM me or tweet me back and I will pray for you!”
Hallow also has “Follower of Jesus” and “Jesus Loves you” written in his Instagram bio.
