GOOD BONES Star Mina Starsiak Hawk Lands Spinoff Show

Mina Starsiak Hawk has landed an HGTV spinoff show following the end of GOOD BONES that will highlight the renovation of her family’s lake home.

She shared her excitement on her Instagram stories.

“Look what we got going on today. Some big stove in the back of this truck that I’m driving down to the lake house,” she said.

TVInsider reported that the two-part spinoff will air in 2024 on HGTV.

“It’s this place that I can see in my mind that’s going to be for my family, but also for my extended family, to make these new, amazing memories,” Starsiak Hawk said of the renovation. “I have so many friends that I hear tell great stories about growing up at their grandparents’ lake house and running around in the woods and building forts and just being kids, and I want that for my kids.”

Starsiak Hawk and her husband, Steve Hawk, plan to take the renovation in two big phases “because I don’t have enough money to do the whole thing at once. Despite what a lot of people think, I’m not rich. The first consists of the living room, dining room, kitchen, main bedroom and bathroom, and the two bedrooms and bathroom for the kids. The second is the outdoor section in the back and the basement.”

“What I know right now is [the] first phase we are filming for a two-episode spinoff, and it’s been really fun so far, because Steve’s involved a lot, the kids are there a lot, [GOOD BONES head designer] MJ [Coyle] and [construction coordinator] Austin [Aynes] are there for demo, and it just kind of feels like getting back to when I started and it was just really fun and everything was joyful,” Starsiak Hawk said.

Additionally, Starsiak Hawk hopes her GOOD BONES co-star MJ Coyle will stay around of the entirety of the renovation.

“I am filming the lake house, and MJ is in there here and there; he comes and helps us demo, and I’m always throwing stuff against the wall to see what will stick,” she said in her video on her Instagram story. “If any new show ever did stick, MJ would definitely be one of the people that I’d be like, ‘Hey, do you want to do this?’”

PEOPLE reported that Starsiak Hawk never intended to be a TV star, but she has surprisingly enjoyed it.

“I love what I do. And I actually — weirdly enough, even though it was never a goal of mine — I love making TV. I love working with the people. I love doing something different every day, and something that’s challenging. And I have a great relationship with the network still, and moving forward will still do things with them,” she said.

HGTV previously stated that the network was in talks with Starsiak Hawk, but the release date for the spinoff has not yet been announced.
