This month, Great American Pure Flix will feature flicks with A-list actors Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, Harry Lennix and more.

“Great American Pure Flix, the top streaming destination for faith and family content, showcases A-list stars, original World Premiere movies, the World Premiere of the platform’s third original series in 2024, and new content dropping every Thursday at 8 p.m. throughout the month of May,” the company said in a press release on May 6.

“As summer beckons with longer, brighter days, Great American Pure Flix is proud to be the place families come together to watch quality original entertainment.”

The PenaVegas will perform in MR. MANHATTAN, which premieres on May 23.

“In MR. MANHATTAN, Mason Bradley (Carlos PenaVega) makes a promise to his brother and sister-in-law to be godfather to their newborn son (and future children),” the synopsis reads. “Mason has exciting news of his own: he’s just been accepted to Columbia Law School, which comes as a shock to his fiancé, Dani (Alexa PenaVega). Ten years on, Mason is surround by big city life and obsessed with becoming partner in his firm. He and Dani have broken up.”

“Just when Mason feels personal success is at hand, he receives an unimaginable call. His brother and sister-in-law have tragically been killed in a car accident. Mason is now a single father with two children and has no idea how much his life is about to change.”

Bill Abbot, President & CEO of Great American Media, said the PenaVegas will also star in future Great American projects.

Another May feature is LOVE’S SECOND ACT, with FULL HOUSE’s Jodie Sweetin, SHRINKING’s Tilky Jones and CHEERS’ George Wendt. It premieres on May 9.

Tim Tebow and his brother Robby Tebow executive produce their first film in RUN THE RACE, with Kristoffer Polha, Frances Fisher, Mario Van Peebles, Eddie George, Tanner Stine and Evan Hofer.

Movieguide®’s review of the movie reads:

RUN THE RACE is a classic underdog story. Zach Truett and his younger brother, Dave, have had the deck stacked against them their whole lives. Their mom died from cancer two years ago, then their alcoholic father abandoned them. Just as Zach is on his way to a football scholarship, he loses his temper in an argument and tears a vital ligament in the ensuing fight. When Dave hatches a plan to win a track scholarship and take Zach with him to college, hope starts to bloom. Can Zach learn to put his full trust in God and turn his hardships into victories?

RUN THE RACE is the producing debut of Christian football phenom Tim Tebow and his brother Robby. They have chosen well for their first production. RACE is extremely well-made. The performances are outstanding across the board, as is the movie’s impressive sense of grit and authenticity. It manages to bring Christ front and center in a dramatically suitable way rather than seeming forced or over-the-top. RUN THE RACE is a terrific tale of family, forgiveness, reconciliation, and redemption.

RUN THE RACE also premieres on Pure Flix on May 9.

THE BLACKLIST’s Harry Lennix will star as God in new series DESTINATION HEAVEN. The first episode premieres May 16, with an episode to follow each Thursday. This will be Great American’s third original series.

“In DESTINATION HEAVEN, a myriad of extraordinary and inexplicable events happen to ordinary people. Each is met face-to-face by God who creates miraculous, transformational pathways to navigate each situation,” the press release said. “Guest appearances for episodes include Kevin Sorbo, Doug Jones, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Carrie Wampler, John Michael Finley, and Hero Hunter.”

Current new titles on the platform available now are PEACE RIVER with Chase Garland and Jessica Nunez Wood, and LEARNING TO LOVE with Ina Barron and Phillip Boyd.
