Hasbro to Remove TROLLS Doll After Parents Claim It Grooms Children for Child Abuse

Toymaker Hasbro announced they will remove a doll from shelves after parents claimed the doll groomed children for child abuse.

Parents say that the TROLLS WORLD TOUR Poppy Sit and Giggle doll will “Gasp and giggle” when someone presses a button located in between the doll’s legs.

Sam Parker, who attempted to run against Mitt Romney for US Senate in 2018, shared a video to social media, explaining how the doll and the sensor work.

He’s not the only one worried.

“This is not okay for a child’s toy!” petition creator Jessica McManis writes. “This toy needs to be removed from our stores. What will this toy make our innocent, impressionable children think? That it’s fun when someone touches your private area? That pedophilia and child molestation are ok? It’s not ok! It’s not fun! It’s damaging and has long term affects on a child’s mental/physical health!”

More than 300,000 people signed the petition to have major retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Target remove the toy from their shelves.

Hasbro said the doll is supposed to giggle when she’s sitting in an upright position.

However, “We recognize the placement of the sensor may be perceived as inappropriate,” Hasbro spokeswoman Julie Duff said in a statement.

“This was not intentional and we are happy to provide consumers with a replacement Poppy doll of similar value through our Consumer Care team. We are in the process of removing the item for purchase,” Duff said.

The Poppy Sit and Giggle Doll does not show up in searches on amazon.com, walmart.com or target.com.
