Actor Henry Winkler, best known for his role as Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli in legendary sitcom, HAPPY DAYS, recently spoke on the possibility of a reboot of this beloved show.
Henry Winkler revealed he has “no idea” if fans will ever get a HAPPY DAYS reboot in which he could reprise his role as “The Fonz.”
However, the 77-year-old actor did reveal some possible requirements if the popular show were to make a comeback.
“I wouldn’t want to do it without Ron [Howard], without Don [Most], without Anson [Williams] and without Marion {Ross],” Winkler expressed to Fox News Digital at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday.
Winkler was candid with fans on the question of a reboot of the show, saying:
When asked if a “Happy Days” reunion was a possibility, Winkler admitted, “That’s a good question. I don’t know. I have no idea.”
Winkler, who won the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in HBO’s “Barry,” said he was just happy “to celebrate the enormous talent in that room,” ahead of his win.
Winkler has worked with many of Hollywood’s greats including Ron Howard who starred alongside him as Richie Cunningham in HAPPY DAYS. Howard has neither confirmed or denied the likelihood of a reboot. But he has stated his choice of an actor to portray his character in the hypothetical reboot: his pick is Jack Dylan Grazer, who starred in the new IT franchise and Disney Pixar’s LUCA.
Winkler’s requirement that Howard be involved in any possible reboot of HAPPY DAYS may or may not be wishful thinking, but any fan of the classic show is bound to keep pressing for an answer. And maybe – just maybe – in future they’ll be able to say, “Hello sunshine, goodbye rain” to a return of the sitcom of a generation.
