HGTV Drops Exciting News About Ben and Erin Napier’s HOME TOWN

By Movieguide® Contributor

HGTV shared a major update about their popular series starring Ben and Erin Napier, and viewers will have plenty of opportunities to watch the DIY couple in action.

The most exciting news is that the show has been renewed for 20 episodes for Season 8 in 2024, per YAHOO.

“BREAKING NEWS: #HGTVHomeTown has been renewed for Season 8! ? ?,” HGTV announced on Instagram. “And if you’re anxiously awaiting the Season 7 premiere, know that we’ll have a date/time for you to mark your calendars shortly ??️”

The network revealed details about Season 7 in a press release:

HGTV juggernaut HOME TOWN, starring home renovation experts Erin and Ben Napier, will return with fresh episodes on Sunday, January 7, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The hit series – which has already been picked up for an additional 20 episodes slated to air next year – spotlights the couple as they bring new life to outdated homes and historical locations in their small town of Laurel, Mississippi, while navigating their busy family life.

The network also teased what fans can expect to see during the first episode. “In the season opener, Ben is recovering from shoulder surgery so he enlists his best friends Jim Rasberry and Josh Nowell to help Erin renovate a home for a family looking to escape the cold Canadian winters. The new Laurel residents are hoping Ben and Erin can find them a property with enough outdoor space for their family of six to enjoy their new southern digs.”

Erin Napier took to Instagram to share another HOME TOWN opportunity with fans. “You’ve waited so patiently… and we are BACK. The new season of #HGTVHomeTown premieres Sunday, January 7 at 8/7 ct. Watch it live on @hgtv or anytime on @streamonmax. Before that, our Christmas special will be airing on December 17! Put it on your calendar!”

“During the one-hour program, premiering Sunday, Dec. 17, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV, the pair will revisit past homeowners and grant their Christmas wishes with special handmade items,” HGTV said in the press release.

MOVIEGUIDE® previously reported on how the Napier family honors the birth of Christ during the holidays:

“The whole month of December should feel different from the rest of the year. It’s when we remember how Christ was born,” the HOMETOWN star shared. “People think it’s crazy that Ben wears a suit, tie and cufflinks every Sunday. But it’s the same thing. He puts on a suit on Sundays because Sundays should feel different. It’s when we worship God.”

Even the couple’s young daughters, Helen and Mae, understand the story of Jesus’ birth.

“Helen loves to paint. At age two, she was painting something vigorously, swiping the brush around on the canvas. I glanced over her shoulder and couldn’t believe it,” Napier said. “Without her knowing, we could see that she had painted Baby Jesus in the manger, with Mary and Joseph watching over him. How could she picture the scene so vividly? How did she know? Was it because she heard the story every night with the Advent calendar or sang it with ‘Away in a Manger’?”
