HGTV Stars Partner With Nonprofit To Help Young Women: ‘We Are Absolutely Passionate About This Work’

Jenny Marrs of FIXER TO FABULOUS recently shared that she and her husband, Dave, partnered with a nonprofit organization called Saving Grace NWA to help young women find homes within their community.

“Saving Grace serves young women ages 18-25 who have aged out of foster care or are facing homelessness. We provide safe housing in a dorm-style setting and offer each young woman educational assistance, career guidance, coaching, counseling, and more,” the organization’s website reads.

The Marrs family recently renovated an inn, which includes a chicken coop, and the young ladies at Saving Grace will help care for the property.

“I can’t get over this watercolor of our adorable chicken coop. Thank you, @westoakwatercolor for painting it!” Jenny captioned a painting of a chicken coop on her Instagram.

“We’ve received a lot of questions about who will take care of the chickens at the ‘Inn’ and I LOVE answering this one! We’ve partnered with a local nonprofit doing amazing work with young women in our community who have aged out of foster care or are facing homelessness,” she wrote. “Together with @savinggracenwa, we’ve developed a hospitality training program for these young women that involves working at the Welcome Inn and caring for the home, the gardens, the guests and, of course, the chickens.”

She added: “We are absolutely passionate about this work and are honored to know that this special house is going to be a welcoming place for visitors and for these incredible young women who are seeking to change the trajectory of their lives.”

The renovation duo are candid about their faith in God and focus on family.

Jenny Marrs had just started to talk about the role family played in her hit HGTV show, FIXER TO FABULOUS, when she stopped short.

Beyond family, faith holds the Marries together.

“We know that God led us to this opportunity,” Jenny says. “It definitely was never on our radar to do a television show. We fought against it big time. We didn’t want to do it at first at all, and we prayed a lot about it. We just know that God led us to this opportunity because He opened the door. He put this in our lives in order to put programming on television that glorifies Him in some way.”

The television host continues, “I mean, yes, we’re renovating houses, but we’re hoping that just people see something different in our family. They may be then go to my Instagram and they are like, ‘Oh wait, what, what is this God she’s talking about?’

“Our goal as a family is always to bring light into the world however we can do that, and if we can do that through a home renovation show, then that’s what we’ll do.”
