HOUSE OF DAVID Soundtrack Stacked With Songs from Christian Music Favorites

Prime Video will release the official soundtrack for the new series HOUSE OF DAVID on Feb. 27, boasting a slate of songs from Christian music icons.
The series follows the “the ascent of the biblical figure, David, who eventually becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel.”
After God directs the prophet Samuel to anoint David king in place of Saul, “David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise.”
The songs inspired by the show dive into those themes. The tracklist includes:

3. Eden Golan – “Beautiful Horizon”
4. Drew Holcomb, Ellie Holcomb – “Take Courage My Heart”
5. Lecrae, Jamie MacDonald – “Unbreakable”
6. Anne Wilson – “Won’t Go Wasted”
7. Chris Tomlin – “After Your Heart”
8. Tasha Cobbs Leonard – “Help”
9. Michael Iskander, Gabby Barrett – “Lead Me To The Water”
10. Blessing Offor – “Giants Fall”
for KING + COUNTRY’s ’40’ is a “rendition of U2’s 1983 hit song of the same name,” Prime Video said in a press release. “The lyrics of ’40’ are derived from Psalm 40, one of the Psalms of David from the Old Testament of the Bible. The band first performed the song at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville during their residency in December 2024.”
“We are beside ourselves that U2 gave us permission to reimagine their anthem ‘40,’ which is inspired by one of the most powerful kings to walk the Earth, King David,” the band added. “We are thoroughly looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2025.”

NEEDTOBREATHE’s Bear Rinehart echoed, “I heard about the show and always felt connected to the story of David. I could always see myself in his story. Sometimes beauty and brokenness can exist in the same place. The song, ‘I’ve Got A Story,’ is really my story. I’m honored to be part of the HOUSE OF DAVID soundtrack.”
“I’m so excited to watch the live-action retelling of the incredible story of David and listen to all of the music inspired by it,” Tori Kelly said. “’I’ve Got A Story’” is a song about struggle, perseverance, reflection, and triumph. I believe its message is relatable to so many people going through trials and tribulations in their lives. I hope this song finds anyone who listens to it in a moment when they need it most, whether they’re going through a painful time or a moment of victory.”

The series will begin releasing on Prime Video on Feb. 27 with the first three episodes. Subsequent episodes will release weekly until the finale.
“This is the original ‘hero’s journey,'” Jon Erwin, the series’ creator, said.
“I love what the Bible says about him, that he’s a man after God’s own heart, despite being an incredibly flawed character who made some pretty epic mistakes along with his epic accomplishments. He’s a very human character,” he added.
