How Ben and Erin Napier Really Feel About Working Together (Hint: They Love It)

Erin and Ben Napier are living the dream, from helping people through their renovation work to enjoying their happy home life in Mississippi.

“We have quit making plans because God’s plans have always been so much better than ours,” Ben said during an appearance on the TAMRON HALL SHOW.

Erin added, “It is [the dream]. And in so many ways, it feels not real to get to go to work together every day…I don’t think I could ever go to work for nine hours a day away from you.”

In an Instagram post celebrating the couple’s cover story for Us Weekly, Erin wrote about their strong bond.

“I think the best way to find happiness in your marriage is to serve one another,” she explained. “Never stop talking. Pray together. Show each other so much grace. Be on the same team. We only have 20 years of practice, and we are not experts, but it’s worked for us every time.”

One of their most recent projects? A house for a couple who work with veterans dealing with PTSD.

“We actually had to pull back and have a meeting about this episode because [this couple] work with veterans who are really struggling with suicidal thoughts and tendencies, and so it’s very heavy on HGTV which is [about] escapism,” Ben explained.

Erin said, “But that’s their real story and their life. Their house is open 24 hours a day to veterans who have PTSD and who need them, and so they are welcoming people in all the time, and we wanted to make their house feel lighter and brighter and more cheerful, because it was just the opposite of that and their careers are just so heavy. Wouldn’t it be great to come home and feel like you can breathe?”

In an interview with Fox News, she added, “It’s important for their own mental health that that home is a place where they can at least recharge at some point. And so that was our main focus. How do we make this house that felt dark and drab feel lighter? Because the burden that they carry is already so heavy. You don’t want your house to add to that.”

The couple have been hard at work promoting their latest season of HOME TOWN TAKEOVER, which they said was easier to make than seasons past.

“I was surprised at how less challenging this season was compared to the first two because our girls were older,” Erin told TV Insider.

It was also a more emotional season, with Ben sharing, “We didn’t want it to end. For that to be work and for us to get paid to do this, it’s all a blessing most people don’t ever get to experience. I hope that all shows through this show.”
