How God Directed This Christian Musician’s Exploding Social Media Presence
By Movieguide® Contributor
Christian musician and social media influencer Talia Perez recalls how God called her to focus on social media and why she believes her music is so personal and relatable.
“I always give credit to God because it was never part of my plan to be like, ‘Oh yeah, I want to be a content creator.’ But about, like, two years go, I started having recurring dreams where I saw, like, the numbers just rising, like maybe I had a couple thousand, maybe 3,000 followers [at the time], and I just saw the numbers going form like 50,000 to 100,000 [then] 200,000, all the way up to 700,000,” Perez told Movieguide®. “And I’d have this dream like every couple of weeks.”
“And I was like, God, are you trying to tell me something is about to happen?” Perez continued. “And then that’s when I kind of went deeper into content and like, okay, I’m going to take this seriously. And literally, over just the past year and a half, the numbers grew over 600,000 followers, and I was just like this is God.”
Part of the reason Perez has such a large audience is because, although all of her music focuses on worship and glorifying God, she has found success with non-Christian fans just as much as the Christian audience.
“I do feel like there’s a fresh wave of revival that God is doing, like, even with the people that follow me,” she said. “A lot of people that follow me aren’t even Christians, like, they just like my content. That’s the whole point, like, I want to show people what lifestyle Christianity looks like, not just preaching.”

Perez has found success by approaching the genre from a new angle. All of her songs are a love letter to God and come from a raw and emotional place because of that.
“Writing worship music love songs to God is so authentic because that is my number one relationship, you know, I’m in constant communion with God every day. Like, I’ve known Him since I was 4 years old,” Perez explained. “So, writing worship music literally was like, ‘Wow. I want to show people what real love is.’”
“Like, knowing our maker. So many people are looking for their soulmate but it’s like, how about knowing the creator of our souls?” she continued. “So, worship music’s definitely an outlet of just talking about my walk with the Lord and inviting people into really encountering God’s presence.”
She loves sharing her faith with her social media followers. In a recent post, she reflected on what it means to be a Proverbs 31 woman.
“Let’s talk about something that might be a little controversial — the Proverbs 31 woman was a businesswoman,” Perez said. “She was an entrepreneur, an investor, and a strategist. The Bible literally says she buys a field, plants a vineyard, and sees that her trading is profitable. That’s not just a homemaker — that’s a woman who knew how to build, manage, and multiply.”
