How Sadie Robertson Huff Finds Her Confidence in God

Sadie Robertson Huff revealed how she has been relying on God recently to give her confidence rather than looking to others for that strength.

“Something that I think has been a thread through at least my 20s…is just learning to be confident in God inside of me, like the Holy Spirit leading me,” Huff said. “Like truly being confident in me as a person.”

“I think whenever I was in high school when I thought of confidence, it was more self-confidence driven of like, I want confidence in what I look like or what I appear to be or confident in just, you know, performance or whatever. But in my 20s, the confidence that I desire is so much deeper – of confidence in the decisions that I’m making, confidence in the person that I really am, the mom that I am, the wife that I am, the leader that I am,” she continued.

“That’s been really hard because I think for so long I like always leaned on my mom or like a mentor or for somebody else helping me steer my life, and all of a sudden, like, you really realize, like, obviously God’s in charge of my life, but I’m responsible for my life,” Huff added. “Like, I have to make good decisions for my life if I want to have a good life.”

Huff frequently speaks about how she conquers fears. In October, she shared her thoughts on Instagram.

“There is joy and confidence on the other side of your fears,” she wrote. “As my mom always says, ‘you can have a million reasons not to do something, but fear can’t be one of them.’ Fear doesn’t get to win. Anxiety doesn’t get to tell me what I can and can’t do.”

“So friend, repeat after me, ‘i don’t have to fear because God is with me. I am created for life and life to the full. I need a friend to come a little closer. I can do it,’” she concluded.

Huff’s realization about the source of true confidence is an excellent reminder of the Lord’s promises in Isaiah 41: “I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

As members of the body of Christ, we can have confidence in all situations because the Lord is on our side. Therefore, we can lean on Him to be confident in our leadership, decision-making, parenting, relationships and every other aspect of life. Through the Lord, we can have unshakable confidence knowing that we are upheld by Christ.

Former DUCK DYNASTY star Sadie Robertson Huff discussed the toxic trait of comparison and how she fights it on her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.

“If you’re comparing yourself to someone, you are always going to feel less than because you cannot be them. There’s a reason for that. That you feel less than. Because if you’re in comparison to them, you will be less than they are because you’re not them,” she said.

She acknowledged that she previously struggled with being confident in who she was.

“Now I’m like, wow, I really do that, you know…I really am confident [in] who I am, and I really am cheering on everyone around me for who they are, and I don’t feel that jealousy like I used to feel. I don’t feel that sense of not being enough that I used to feel,” she added.

“God did create us uniquely and originally, and we can be confident in who we are enough to cheer on others and not feel less than,” she said.
