How the New Passion Album Inspires Listeners to Step Out in Faith

In a new interview with CBN News, Melodie Malone is discussing her role in Burn Bright, a new album from Passion.

“We have these five songs on the project, Burn Bright,” Malone shared. “There’s a song called ‘Shine Like Stars’…basically from Isaiah 6 when Isaiah sees God in the throne room and says ‘Who will go for Me and who will I send’ and Isaiah says, ‘Send me Lord.”’

“When we know Jesus, we’re going to go and be the light of the world like Matthew 5: 14-15 says and so that’s where the project comes from,” the artist continued. “It’s really cool to think about all of these students coming in and experiencing God and then going back to thousands upon thousands of universities and being bright lights for Jesus.”

Malone shared her hopes that listeners will grow closer to Jesus and stronger in their faith through the new music.

“I’m always wanting to have a relationship, have a conversation with Jesus and in those moments, he transforms me and makes me more like Him. That’s what the Christian life is,” Malone said.

The new album features live performance tracks from their Passion 2022 conference, in addition to five new studio tracks.

Malone previously spoke about the hype surrounding the Passion Movement.

“[I]’ve been burdened this week thinking about the ease with which we can get caught up in hype and amazement. surrounded by the people of God. singing the praises of God. celebrating the goodness of God. where’s the danger? the danger is so subtle and such a sly tactic of the enemy— because the enemy knows he wins when we mindlessly orbit the things of God without ever allowing the grace and glory of God to transform our hearts. My prayer for every student, every leader, every door holder who experienced the outpouring of God this week @passion_camp is that the Holy Spirit will enable us to use our minds, to consciously choose Jesus and be changed by Him— to not be amazed by the allure of a crowd but stand in wonder of I AM,” Malone said.
