By Allyson Vannatta, Staff Writer
Faith-based movie I STILL BELIEVE took third place at the box office this weekend amidst the Coronavirus pandemic and theater closures.
The movie, which details the early life of Christian singer Jeremy Camp, brought in a total of $9.1 million domestically this weekend.
It fell behind Pixar’s ONWARD, which came in at $10. million. Vin Diesel’s BLOODSHOT finished second with $9.17 million, THE INVISIBLE MAN brought in $5.8 million to put it in fourth, and Universal’s THE HUNT finished in fifth with $5.3 million.
Movieguide® previously reported that the flick topped the box office on Friday, raking in $4 million.
According to Forbes, the movie was predicted to open with $10-12 million, so it came in close to expectations even with theater closures.
Many Christian celebrities went out to the theater to support the movie and shared their love on social media.
