Christian influencer Lindsey Gurk just shared a very “cool” fact that demonstrates the way God’s hand is in everything.
“Okay, would you like to learn what I just learned today?” she said in a recent Instagram video. “The blood of lamb, sheep’s blood, is the anti-venom for a poisonous snake bite.”
Gurk continued, “Not only that; venom from the snake is inserted into the sheep because they make antibodies. They’re able to withstand it. And then we take that and we give it to people who have been poisoned by the snake’s bite.”
A series of Bible verses flashed across the screen as she spoke, including Colossians 1:20: “and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross” (via BibleGateway).
“With the lamb’s body and its blood, we can then conquer the snake’s bite,” she concluded.
Gurk’s followers shared her amazement, with one commenting, “STOP, I had NO idea and this is why the Bible is legit LIVING AND ACTIVE.”

Another wrote, “this is amazing and definitely reason to get amped!! praise the Lord!! thank you for sharing.”
In an article about using sheep’s blood for rattlesnake anti-venom, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported, “About 2,000 sheep are injected with rattlesnake venom each month and the venom antibodies are collected later from their blood.”
“We start with a much lower dose and slowly ramp it up, so that they increase their amount of antibodies they produce until we get a hyper-immune animal that is producing a significant quantity of rattlesnake antivenom or antibodies,” operations manager Rob Mugford added.
Gurk frequently shares messages of faith on her Instagram, including personal stories about how God has moved in her own life.
“I don’t praise the Lord because of my circumstances. I praise Him because of what He did on that cross,” a recent post reads. “Jesus saved me. And He saved my family (there’s much more to the story He’s given me than I can share in this video but trust me…He is who He says He is. I tried to break it down for THREE YEARS. He just kept showing up with love.) I will never be ashamed of sharing about Him and what He’s done.”
Gurk’s latest post demonstrates the exciting ways God is constantly at work in our lives, and how scripture is truly active every day.
