INSIDE OUT Spin-Off Show Debuts Trailer — Check It Out

Disney just debuted the trailer for its INSIDE OUT spin-off show, DREAM PRODUCTIONS, featuring voice acting from Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Paula Pell and Richard Ayoade.
“Riley is growing up and when her memories need some extra processing, Joy and the rest of the Core Emotions send them to Dream Productions,” Animation Magazine reported. “Acclaimed director Paula Persimmon (Pell) faces a nightmare of her own: Trying to create the next hit dream after being paired up with Xeni (Ayoade), a smug daydream director looking to step up into the big leagues of night dreams.”
The rest of the cast includes Poehler, Rudolph, Ally Maki, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black and Phyllis Smith.
TV Line wrote that DREAM PRODUCTIONS will be a “mockumentary-style series” written and directed by Mike Jones.
“The entire concept of the animated project is to present a parody of the entertainment industry disguised as the colorful characters that create Riley’s dreams,” Collider explained. “Paula will be introduced as an experienced producer, while Xeni will function as the young, arrogant filmmaker who wants to force his vision on the department’s work. Time will tell if the leads will be able to work together by the end of the series.”
Disney explained that DREAM PRODUCTIONS takes place “in between the events of INSIDE OUT and INSIDE OUT 2.”
“All four episodes of the limited series will premiere beginning Wednesday, December 11, only on Disney+,” the company’s website reads.

DREAM PRODUCTIONS is capitalizing on the massive success INSIDE OUT 2 saw at the box office this summer.
The sequel made over $1.6 billion at the global box office, per Box Office Mojo, making it Pixar’s highest-grossing movie ever.
