Could Bradley Cooper be joining the cast of SUPERMAN?

“Well, I guess I’m the one who put this out there,” popular X user ViewerAnon wrote, referring to rumors that Bradley Cooper appears in the highly anticipated superhero movie.

They confirmed those rumors, writing, “He appears in the first couple minutes of the movie so I promise this is not a big spoiler.”

It’s rumored that Cooper is playing Jor-El, Superman’s biological father, but nothing has been confirmed. It wouldn’t be surprising, though; Cooper has worked with SUPERMAN director James Gunn before on the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY movies.

While Cooper’s potential part hasn’t been confirmed, plenty of other stars are officially appearing in SUPERMAN.

David Corenswet plays the titular hero, while THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL star Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane. Former X-MEN star Nicholas Hoult stars as villain Lex Luthor, CASTLE and THE ROOKIE star Nathan Fillion plays Guy Gardner, and Skyler Gisondo will appear as Jimmy Olsen.

Cooper’s possible cameo isn’t the only SUPERMAN leak. Many insiders have claimed that test screenings have left audiences underwhelmed.

In another post from ViewerAnon, they claimed to have heard “directly from Warner Bros.” that responses from viewers were “decidedly less glowing” than other reports saying the movie was a hit with test audiences.

“Not to say it went terribly, but it’s a divisive film with a particularly silly tone,” their post continued. “Some people click with it, some seem to bounce right off.”

Jeff Sneider, Hollywood insider and author of the popular blog The InSneider, also reported that SUPERMAN is less than perfect, calling the movie “kind of a mess.”

Last year, Gunn spoke to Gizmodo about the movie, telling the outlet that it will start “in the middle of the action.”

“Superman already exists. Lois and Clark already know each other,” the director listed. “Lex hates Superman’s guts from the beginning, although they don’t know each other personally. So we start right in the middle of the action.”

He also shared that SUPERMAN won’t be as humorous as some of his previous work.

“I start with a place that’s very hopeful, fun…but incredibly grounded [and] incredibly serious all at the same time,” Gunn explained. “It’s humorous, but it certainly is not as [comedic] as either SUICIDE SQUAD or GUARDIANS.”

He added that there is “plenty of humor in it,” praising Brosnahan and Corenswet for their comedic talents, but said he was ultimately “trying to create something that is grounded.”

In an interview with Italy’s GQ, Corenswet spoke about taking on the iconic character, calling it “the most challenging role of my career for its scope and physical demands.”

“I focus on doing my best for the director, the crew and my colleagues who have worked at the top of their abilities for months or years,” the actor said. “If I do well for them, I think I’ve done everything possible.”

With even the smallest rumors making headlines, it’s clear that everyone around the world are eagerly awaiting their own chance to see SUPERMAN.
