After a 13 year break from the show, Jack Wagner is reprising his role on THE BOLD & BEAUTIFUL with his character returning to help run his father’s shipping business.

“After a series of tumultuous events in her ongoing relationship with Ridge Forrester, Brooke is feeling defeated and lost, grappling with heartbreak and the painful realization that her relationship may be irreparably broken,” a logline for the upcoming season reads, per Soap Opera Network. “As she struggles with her emotions, Nick’s (Wagner) unexpected arrival brings a rush of memories and unresolved feelings back to the surface. His charismatic and supportive nature offers Brooke a sense of comfort and stability that she desperately needs. Their connection reignites old flames, offering Brooke a chance at happiness and a fresh start away from the shadow of her past with Ridge.”

Though Wagner made a brief appearance on the show in 2022 to celebrate its 35th anniversary, this season will mark his first time with a recurring presence on THE BOLD & BEAUTIFUL since 2012.

Since leaving the show, he has gone on to star in multiple movies, while also taking on a main character on WHEN CALLS THE HEART. After working in multiple areas of the entertainment industry, Wagner believes soap opera actors do not receive the credit they should for their work.

“I gotta tell you honestly, people that are from A-list films have no idea what it’s like to have 60 pages of dialogue on one day of a soap opera and work 14 hours and get it all right,” he told Us Weekly.

“You’re trying to give the best performance you can, but you’ve got 60 pages that day. Whereas if you’re doing a movie of the week — and I’ve done 30 or 40 of those — we shoot it in 15 or 16 days, but you don’t have more than eight pages a day. That’s where I hope the credibility is given,” Wagner continued. “It really takes great memorization, a real commitment to rehearsal and a real commitment to being able to give the best performance you can in a very short period of time.”

As he speaks up for the credit soap opera actors deserve, Wagner continues to be thankful for this time spent in the genre, explaining that he still gets recognized the most for his role on GENERAL HOSPITAL.

“I still get called Frisco probably more than anything,” he told the Melrose Place podcast. “When a fan base starts to call in love with the characters, it’s very real for them.”

While Wagner will likely never reprise his role as Frisco, fans will be excited for his return to the soap opera genre as he reprises Nick this summer.
