Jamie Lynn Spears Joins DWTS Season 32

ZOEY 101 and SWEET MAGNOLIAS actress Jamie Lynn Spears has joined DANCING WITH THE STARS season 32.
“Decided to lace up my dancing shoes for a good reason,” Spears shared on her Instagram. “I was offered an opportunity that is completely out of the ordinary of something I would normally ever do, but it’s during a time where my community #SAG & #WGA are on strike & all of us members are unable to work until we have reached a fair resolution, so if I’m able to use this unique opportunity to bring more awareness and to donate the salary I get for dancing each week back to the community who has given me so much, then it’s the least I can do.”
She continued, “I could not ask for a better partner then @alanbersten to guide me through this adventure. I’m not gonna lie, I’m scared, but I’m just gonna have fun and hopefully be able to give back in a meaningful way until we can ALL GET BACK TO OUR DAY JOBS.”
Spears joined GOOD MORNING AMERICA to discuss her new role.
“I don’t know if one could ever be 100% ready to take on something this big. I didn’t realize what a commitment it is, but it definitely is,” she said on ” GOOD MORNING AMERICA.” “I’m ready to challenge myself.”
Spears will partner with professional dancer Alan Bersten, who said Spears is “so hard-working and so dedicated…and so much fun.”
“He’s been wonderful. My family got to meet him. Wouldn’t rather do it with anyone else,” Spears said of Bersten.
Spears’ daughter, Maddie, is excited for her mother to join the new cast.
“She was like, ‘Mom, you have to do it,'” Spears remembered. “She’s an athlete, I think she kinda wanted to see me push myself.”
“Even if I embarrass myself,” Spears added. “I’m doing it for a good reason and hopefully giving back to a community that has literally given back to me since I was a little girl.”

According to Jamie Lynn, 30, her father and mother worked hard to convince her to have an abortion after becoming pregnant at the age of 16.
“[They] came to my room trying to convince me that having a baby at this point in my life was a terrible idea,” she recalled.
“‘It will kill your career. You are just too young. You don’t know what you’re doing. There are pills you can take. We can help you take care of this problem … I know a doctor,’” Jamie Lynn said, adding: “Everyone around me just wanted to make this ‘issue’ disappear…everyone was certain that termination would be the best course of action.”
Despite the outside pressure from her family and friends, Jamie Lynn chose to give birth to her child, Maddie, who is now 13.
