Country Star Had Special Surprise for This Military Family

Country music singer Jason Aldean helped a military dad surprise his kids by reuniting the family onstage during one of his shows.

“After a 10 month deployment, First Class Petty Officer Blake Darling is back home with his family! Thanks to his wife Brittney for letting us be in on the surprise. Welcome home! ???” Aldean wrote on Instagram alongside a video showing the heartfelt reunion.

“I know your dad is military, right?” Aldean asked Darling’s teenage kids onstage. “We thought we’d give you a little surprise today, if that’s cool with you guys. Can we do that?” Darling then emerged from backstage, and the family embraced as the kids broke into tears.

The reunion occurred during a stop on Aldean’s Highway Desperado Tour which is currently traveling across the country. Though this appears to be Aldean’s first time surprising a military family like this, he has long shared his support for our troops and his pride in America.

“I think being American to me just means freedom. We live in the best country in the world,” Aldean told Fox News last July.

“I mean, there’s a reason that everybody else wants to be here and wants to come here,” he continued. “It’s because they don’t have what we have. And so, I’m still very proud of that and proud of our country, even though sometimes it gets a little sideways and a little hard to recognize sometimes.”

“But I think we live in the best country in the world. I mean, we get the change to go and still have the American dream. You can come from nothing and build something and make something out of your life, out of yourself and change your life, you family’s life,” Aldean added. “And I think we still have the ability to do that in this country, which is pretty cool.”

Aldean represents the heart of country music and the old-time values that the genre represents. He has fought to bring these values back to America as a whole to help restore us to the God-fearing nation we used to be.

The Buckmen, a group of famous outdoorsmen including Willie Robertson and Luke Bryan, recently got together to talk about America’s need for Jesus.

During their discussion, the group was asked, “Do you think that our country right now more than ever needs Jesus, or is that just a worry that we have that every generation has?”

Former MLB player Tombo Martin responded, saying, “Not only is it…the truth, but I mean we need to quit talking about it and put boots on the ground,” referring to the need to take action and bring America back to Jesus.

Country star Jason Aldean added, “It’s like taking prayer out of school and all that, that was kind of the beginning of the snowball you know? It’s like, ‘Oh we got that. Now let’s go for something [else]’ …you know, and it just at some point it just becomes a snowball effect.”

While the singer isn’t sure whether previous generations had it better, he emphasized that they lived in “simpler” times.
