Jen Lilley Returns To DAYS OF OUR LIVES To Honor Late John Aniston

Actress Jen Lilley is reprising her DAYS OF OUR LIVES role as Theresa Donovan for a special memorial storyline.
“[Cat’s] out of the bag,” the actress wrote on Instagram of her return. “And there’s so much behind the scenes y’all don’t know.”
Movieguide® previously reported on what drew Lilley to the role:
“The truth is Jesus hung out with tax collectors and harlots,” Lilley said. “I’m open to doing roles that are maybe edgier, as long as there’s a redemptive message to them, which is why I played the role of Theresa on DAYS OF OUR LIVES…”
She said the Lord told her, “Somebody has to play that role, and I’d rather it be a Christian because you can play the unspoken moments when the guy leaves the room. You play the emptiness the girls actually feel where they’ve sold themselves short of their value. Those are the exact condition of humanity that I sent my Son to die for. You know, I died for broken people. I didn’t die for perfect people. And she’s not beyond redemption and there’s no pits so deep that my love cannot find someone still.”
Lilley will return as a tribute to co-star John Aniston’s character, Victor Kiriakis. Aniston died last year, and this is the DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ way of saying goodbye to both the actor and the character he played.
“There is no question that all of us at DAYS will be mourning this great and profound loss,” the show’s co-creator Ken Corday said at the time of Aniston’s death. “John was an icon, but even more so, he was a pillar of strength and unity for our DAYS OF OUR LIVES community. He, along with our ‘Victor Kiriakis,’ will forever be in our hearts.”
Soap Opera Network reported that Lilley isn’t the only DAYS OF OUR LIVES alum returning to the show. Zach Tinker will also reprise his role as Sonny, Victor’s great-nephew, in the coming episodes.
