Jennifer Hudson, Chip & Joanna Gaines Kick Off Warner Bros. Discovery

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav recently unveiled the media giant merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, which he called “the largest maker of motion picture and television content in the world.”
Zaslav added that Warner Bros. Discovery would be “a place for bold, impactful storytelling with the power to entertain, inform and when we’re at our best, inspire.”
To kick off the event, Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson introduced Warner Bros. Discovery’s future slate of TV, series, movies, and talent.
Movieguide® recently awarded the former AMERICAN IDOL star with the Grace Prize® for her performance as Aretha Franklin in RESPECT.
Magnolia Network’s Chip and Joanna Gaines were among the stars and celebrities Hudson introduced to the sold-out crowd.
“Our love for home turned into a passion of helping people re-envision their spaces, taking something old or forgotten and making it new again,” Joanna Gaines said. “Our target for Magnolia Network has been the same day since day one: To give rise to new voices. passionate people who are doing inspiring things in their community, to tell their stories that make the world one beautiful place.”
Other guests included INSIDE THE NBA’s Shaquille O’Neal, WIPEOUT host John Cena, former DIRTY JOBS star Mike Rowe, and celebrity chef Bobby Flay.
“This really is a moment, not just for us as a company but for us as an industry,” Zaslav added.
