Jenny Marrs Says Late Friend’s ‘Prayers Cover’ Her New Book

As Jenny Marrs works on her second book, she’s reflecting on “the mom-of-my-heart” who she wishes was around to read it.
“I just emailed my first draft of my full manuscript for my second book to my editor,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “The relief I feel right now is palpable (granted, there is plenty of work still to be done with the editing process but this is a HUGE step and I’m celebrating ?).”
Marrs explained that the book is “all about God’s abounding faithfulness,” adding that she has “never written anything more vulnerable.”
“I have never prayed so hard for the Holy Spirit to give me the stories and the words I should share and for the enemy to back down already,” she wrote.
The HGTV star shared that she texted her “dearest people” to let them know she had finished the book, “But, the one person I really, really wanted to tell was my beloved Mama Tay.”
“The mom-of-my-heart, who took me in as a daughter over two decades ago as my house mom in college and who texted me every single morning,” Marrs wrote. “Her prayers cover these pages and I wanted her to know I did it.”
Marrs continued, “She’s been with Jesus now for six full days and I know she knows. She once told me that she loved to talk to Him about me and the fact that they are sitting there, together, talking about me face-to-face fills my heart with more joy than anything else I could think of. She was my cheerleader earth side and, gracious, I miss her but I know there’s no where else she’d rather be than right where she is.”
“I won’t get the phone call or the text that I would have received had I finished seven days ago, but I have no doubt I was able to finish today because she’s there and she’s smiling so, so big dancing on streets of gold in celebration,” she concluded.
The post’s image included texts between Marrs and Mama Tay from 2022, where Mama Tay promised to pray for Marrs.
“God has given you already everything you need Jenny. You have given yourself to Him & and He will be glorified in what you say,” her text reads.
In an interview with Better Homes & Gardens, Marrs shared that she “always wanted to write a book,” adding, “When I was a kid, it’s what I wanted to be when I grew up: a writer.”
Marrs’ first book, “House + Love = Home,” was released last year and is “about creativity and intention and is filled with personal stories from our family and our farm,” Marrs wrote on Instagram. “Storytelling is my love language and I couldn’t possibly write a book without sharing my heart and the stories from my life.”

FIXER TO FABULOUS star Jenny Marrs recently announced that the release of her new book, “House + Love = Home: Creating Warm, Intentional Spaces for a Beautiful Life,” is set for this coming November.
Marrs, who stars on the hit HGTV renovation show alongside her husband Dave, took to Instagram to share her gratitude for the opportunity to become an author.
“When I was in fourth grade, I wrote a book for class titled ‘Run Away Horse.’ It went on to be entered in the young author’s conference and I received a button that said ‘I’m An Author,’ which I fastened to my backpack and proudly toted around school. After receiving the button, I declared: this is what I want to do with my life. I want to be an author,” she recalled in a recent Instagram post.
“Which leads me here: in absolute awe that God opened the doors and led me on a windy, often unexpected, path to this exact moment. A moment He planted in my heart of hearts all those years ago,” she added. “I’m humbled, overjoyed and nervous to share the big news that I’ve written a book!”
