Jesse Metcalfe Discusses ‘Miraculous’ True Story That Inspired ON A WING AND A PRAYER

Actor Jesse Metcalfe recently talked about his new movie, ON A WING AND A PRAYER, the inspiring true story of a man who must figure out how to fly and land a plane to save his family.
Metcalfe said the “well-executed” script drew him to the project, as well as the “well-fleshed-out character” he ended up playing.
“I found that a good thing to sink my teeth into as an actor,” Metcalfe said of his character, who helped the family land the plane and had lost family members of his own in plane crashes.
The actor also talked about the different elements of the movie that will appeal to audiences.
“It’s a family and your heart kind of goes out to them,” Metcalfe listed. “And then there’s…the excitement of what actually is going on. Another is faith.”
He continued, “It’s a true story and the people involved in this true story were people of faith. It is a miraculous story.”

ON A WING AND A PRAYER tells the incredible true story of a small-town family that has to land their plane after the pilot dies in midair. The movie stars Denis Quaid, Heather Graham and Jesse Metcalfe.
Roma Downey produced the movie and it was directed by Sean McNamara.
“It’s been ours for a long time. Now we get to share it and have it seen and have it be felt,” Downey said. “I think it’s very much a movie to feel in your heart. As a Christian, it speaks to the power of prayer and the mercy of God.”
