JESUS REVOLUTION Gets International Release After U.S. Success

Blockbuster JESUS REVOLUTION is now hitting theaters across the globe!
John Erwin, the movie’s co-director, recently shared that JESUS REVOLUTION has been released in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Indonesia, and will soon premiere in the United Kingdom and Latin America.
He pointed to the movie’s high box office earnings as the reason they were able to send JESUS REVOLUTION overseas.

JESUS REVOLUTION continues to prove that faith-centered movies do well at the box office as it marks Lionsgate’s highest-grossing domestic release since KNIVES OUT in 2019.
JESUS REVOLUTION has earned $39,453,451 at the domestic box office, surpassing the previous record holder, THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD (2021), which made $38,014,727 domestically.
The movie’s success as Lionsgate’s highest-grossing domestic release in three years shows that Christians will support entertainment that promotes and honors faith and family values.
“Entertainment is America’s second-largest export behind agriculture,” Erwin explained. “So when you make something popular in the U.S., and when an audience really champions it, they send it around the world. And so a lot of Christians might not realize that as we support a film here, it enables a global release.”
He went on to say that the more a movie’s Christian audience supports a movie, the larger the movie’s audience will be.
“A lot of people ask, are we just preaching to the choir? We found it’s actually the choir that launches the product,” Erwin said. “The more the faith audience champions something, whether it’s our movie or THE CHOSEN, they send it out. So really, if a big movie becomes successful, and you saw it in America, 10 other people are gonna see it around the world because of you. And I think that’s not something that people understand. It’s really cool.”
He continued, “The whole reason we made the movie was if God did it before it, God can do it again. The world needs a Jesus revolution, perhaps now more than any other time in my lifetime.”
