Hillary Lindsey, writer of Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take the Wheel,” is being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame 20 years after the song’s release.

“Hillary Lindsey, Steely Dan, R.E.M., Dean Pitchford and Timbaland are to be inducted in 2024,” Fox News reported. “These artists are each behind massive hits that have remained popular throughout generations. The longevity of a song is important when it comes to those who qualify for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, as a songwriter with a notable catalog becomes eligible for induction 20 years after the commercial release of a song.”

The induction will occur on June 13, 2024, in New York City.

Lindsey wrote other Underwood hits, including “So Small,” “Just A Dream,” “Last Name” and “Two Black Cadillacs.” She also wrote music for Little Big Town, Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Lady Gaga and others.

Billboard reported that the three-time Grammy winner is 2024’s only female inductee to the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

“Her songs have been used in films NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER, WHERE THE HEART, SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2, HANNAH MONTANA THE MOVIE, among many others,” the Tennessean reported.

Lindsey co-wrote several songs for Underwood’s recent Denim & Rhinestones album: “Velvet Heartbreak,” “Burn,” “Ghost Story,” “She Don’t Know,” “Take Me Out” and “Hate My Heart.”

Movieguide® reported how Underwood donated funds from the tour to veterans:

“I’m so proud of the fans that came out to the tour and making this donation possible,” Underwood said. “They have always shown up to support great organizations like Tunnel to Towers, making the world a better place while coming out to see us.”

Underwood donated $1 for every ticket purchased for her Denim & Rhinestones Tour. The funds went to the Tunnel Towers Foundation, an organization that provides mortgage-free homes to injured veterans and first responders with families.
