GAF Actress Jill Wagner Thanks Military Members for Service: ‘Love You All’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Movieguide® award nominee Jill Wagner and her husband, David Lemanowicz, expressed their gratitude for the men and women who serve in our military.
“We are currently in Baltimore, and we were just having a little conversation about Thanksgiving [and] all of the things that we are thankful, and it landed on the military,” Wagner began in a Great American Family video. “What the men and women of the military have done and continue to do for us. So, I guess we just wanted to say a little thank you to all of them.”
Lemanowicz added, “Lots for our family to be thankful for, our health, our family’s health and the health of this country. It’s still the greatest country in the world. I continue to serve in the military at my own capacity as an army officer. I couldn’t think of a better job or a better country to serve. So, I’m thankful for that opportunity.
“So, to all of you guys who are in the military or have family in the military who have served or are currently serving, thank you. We love you all, and God bless,” Wagner concluded.
The actress frequently voices her support of the military. In fact, she hosted an event for the families of service members.
“I’m thrilled to invite you to join my husband, Major Dave Lemanowicz, USA, and me for an unforgettable slice of Americana at our farm!” she wrote on Instagram. “Proceeds will benefit Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), a remarkable non-profit with a 43-year legacy. SOWF is committed to providing fully funded educations and additional educational opportunities ‘cradle to career’ (preschool – college) for the surviving children of Special Operations Forces lost in the line of duty as well as children of all Medal of Honor Recipients.”
The actress has looked to God in light of the Israel-Hamas war. Wagner shared a photo of her at her farm and wrote, “My heart is heavy as I pray for the innocent. I realize that where I stand on this earth right now, may have been gods [sic] design, but I still feel so blessed.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Wagner:
Jill Wagner and her husband David highlighted National Vietnam War Veterans Day in a new Great American Community post.
“[This is] a day to honor those who fought in Vietnam or served during the Vietnam War over its 20-year timeframe,” David Wagner explained. “It was enacted into law and became the official recognized day to honor those who served in the Vietnam war on March 29th 2017.”
“As all Americans know, during that time, the history books tell us they didn’t get the proper welcome home like many of those who served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan,” he continued. “My generation, we get a lot of ‘thank you for your service,’ and I think the Vietnam vets didn’t get that. They deserve it.”
“They served just as honorably and they made a lot of sacrifices, including a lot of deaths, not just casualties. There were millions of casualties, but a lot of people died, a lot of Americans, a lot of patriots died in that war, and many of them didn’t choose to serve, so there’s complexities and dimensions to that war that we didn’t face in Afghanistan and Iraq during my time in the service,” he concluded.
