How JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY Inspires Imagination

JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY cast and crew opened up about how their movie celebrates imagination and the fun Christmas brings.
“In a rare Christmas fantasy movie without Santa Claus, JINGLE JANGLE: A CHRISTMAS JOURNEY offers a wonderful new holiday adventure. The movie is set in the town of Cobbleton and follows Jernocius Jangle (Forest Whittaker), a once great toy maker, and his inventive granddaughter (Madalen Mills) who seeks to help him recapture the magic he lost,” Screen Rant summarized.
Movieguide® previously spoke with director David E. Talburt about his heart behind the movie.
“I think it’s a film for the world, for everybody to see that we are all connected with humanity regardless of color,” Talburt shared.
“Selfishly for me as a parent, I think every parent feels the same way, they want to see something that they’re represented, their children are represented. They’re seeing their children are inspired,” he added.
Movieguide® celebrated its inspirational undertones by including it in its Movies That Inspire event.
“JINGLE JANGLE does talk about magic, but it’s the magic of invention, imagination and the joy of creation, much like the MOVIEGUIDE® Award winning movie HUGO,” Movieguide® noted.
Phylicia Rashad reflected on how the movie promotes imagination and why it’s important for kids to cultivate that skill.
“You want to encourage [imagination] in children, you know, because children have great imaginations, and if they don’t get squashed, if…[it] doesn’t get messed up for them, just think of all the great things they will think to do and actually do. Imagination for a kid is like breath,” she said.
“It’s important for the children to have then, but it’s also important [for imagination] to be something that you can carry through into your adult life because what is life without the fun that is imagination? What is life if you’ve lost that inner child?” Ankia Noni Rose continued.
