John Schneider ‘Trying To Honor’ Late Wife With New Album

DUKES OF HAZZARD star John Schneider got emotional during his first public appearance since his wife’s death.
“I just finished a new album that I think is the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s all about her. It’s called ‘We’re Still Us,’” the actor shared, adding that he’s “very proud” of the music he has made.
He continued, “My bride Alicia and I did our own movies and our own music, so we didn’t work for anybody. So that was very, very helpful. Now that my much, much, much better half is not here but waiting for me, I am trying to honor her professionalism and trying to honor her skill.”
Schneider said that making this album has been “helpful” in his grieving process, “but honestly, I don’t see a time where this doesn’t hurt.”
The actor announced the death of his wife Alicia Allain in February, writing, “My beautiful Smile is pain free, living in her new body alongside Jesus.”
Since her death, Schneider revealed that “there’s a huge demographic of people who’ve lost a spouse out there, and people are afraid to talk about it. So we really have no support system…we need that.”
“Now, did I ever dream in my wildest imagination that I would be a well-educated support system for people who lost the loves of their lives? No, but that’s where I am,” he added.
Schneider has been open about his grieving process, sharing that he writes “a letter to heaven” daily.
“I think people need to know it’s okay to love someone that much,” he explained. “In fact, it is how you should feel about your spouse.”

Schneider released a statement about his wife’s passing via Instagram on February 22, writing, “My beautiful Smile is pain free, living in her new body alongside Jesus.”
Schneider and Allain wed in 2019.
The actor didn’t reveal Allain’s cause of death, but both he and his wife had been very open about her battle with cancer.
In 2020, the couple shared that Allain had been diagnosed with stage 4 HER2-negative cancer.
