JESUS REVOLUTION Director Brings New Faith-Based Series to Amazon
By Movieguide® Contributor
A new faith-based series is coming to Amazon. From Jon Erwin’s The Wonder Project, the series follows two singles as they navigate difficult situations in life.
“IT’S NOT LIKE THAT follows Lori, who is freshly divorced with two teens. Malcolm’s a minister and recently widowed dad of three,” the synopsis reads. “Their families once did everything together, but now Lori and Malcolm must navigate their newly minted singledom, parenthood and the complexities of Malcolm being a modern-day minister. Is this the beginning of a love story? It’s not like that. Or is it?”

The series is currently cast-contingent.
It was created by Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson who also serve as its showrunners. In addition, “Jon Erwin, Justin Rosenblatt, Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten for Wonder Project, Alex Goldstone for 42 & Anonymous Content and Kingdom Story Company” will produce.
This isn’t Amazon’s first foray into faith-based content. The company has partnered with the Wonder Project on HOUSE OF DAVID, “a straight to order series that will stream exclusively on Prime Video.”
It follows “the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. For one leader to rise, another must fall.”

“The dream is a values-based brand and ecosystem that is absolutely unafraid of Christianity and the American dream and that tells stories that restore faith in things worth believing in,” Erwin told Movieguide®. “You know, stories that are intentionally designed to pull families back together.”
