Jordan Feliz, Colton Dixon Tease Each Other About Lyrics, Hair Styles and More
By Movieguide® Contributor
In a recent video, Christian musical artists Colton Dixon and Jordan Feliz jokingly asked each other some questions.
“Jordan, thank you for being here today, I really appreciate it,” Dixon began. “Nice of you to cut away some of your time putting on clothes and trying on shoes and teasing your hair to make it to the interview today, so we really appreciate that.”
“In your song ‘The River’ there’s a particular lyric that talks about going down to the river. Is that the same river that Chris Farley also mentions in his motivational speech?” he asked.
“I don’t remember,” Feliz responded.
The two continued to go back and forth, and Feliz asked Dixon another question:
“So, did you have to get Matthew McConaughey’s permission to use the phrase ‘Alright, alright, alright’ in your new song ‘My Light’?”
Dixon broke into laughter before responding, “No?”
The two continued joking about each other’s hair and music careers.
“For me, I feel like this is something social media, just like, historically, I think everybody kind of wants to know the answer to this questions,” Feliz asked Dixon. “How did it feel to lose AMERICAN IDOL…twice?
Dixon responded by jokingly storming out of the room.
The artists are currently on tour together and just announced that they will be extending the “Love + Light” tour through April 2024.
“If you guessed we’re going back out on tour this spring, you were right!” they posted on Instagram. “Join us for the Love + Light Tour presented by @compassion coming to a city near you. RSVP in stories to be the first to get ticket alerts!”
Dixon rose to fame after being a contestant on AMERICAN IDOL. Although he didn’t win, he shared how God used that time to shape his life. Movieguide® reported:
After that Dixon was given a chance to try out for the show AMERICAN IDOL when his sister was trying out. His family had watched AMERICAN IDOL since they were both young and his sister really wanted to go. Dixon followed her to the stage for moral support for his sister until his sister told him to go in and perform.
Dixon reports his sister encouraged him by saying something similar to, “This is so dumb you’re already here [at AMERICAN IDOL], why would you not just sing? The worst they could say is no and then you’ll know.” Because of his sister’s encouragement, Dixon tried out and they both made it, they did well but Dixon went on longer.
Dixon commented that God used his decision to say yes to AMERICAN IDOL to drastically shape and change his life. One example, is that Dixon met his current wife in He met his future wife in California as a result of going on AMERICAN IDOL.
