TV Anchor Found Christ After Betrayal: ‘God Changed Me’

News anchor and TV personality Julie Chen Moonves learned how to turn to God amid betrayal.
In a video posted to TBN, Chen Moonves reflected on the betrayal she faced while hosting THE TALK.
“I get a phone call from the then-head of CBS Daytime, and she says to me ‘Two of your co-hosts…they called me, Julie, and they said they would feel more comfortable doing the show tomorrow — the launch, the premiere — without you, because clearly, they have to talk about why your husband’s name is in the headlines. They said they wouldn’t feel comfortable talking in front of you,’” she explained.
“And I thought, ‘That’s so weird — like, these are my sisters, they’ve got my back, like we’ve had each other’s back all this time.’ And this CBS executive said to me…‘Julie, I’m going to have to ask you to stay home…my guess is if you show up to your job, they won’t show up.'”
At the time, Chen Moonves’s husband, Les Moonves, had been accused of sexual assault. Through the accusations, which he denied, Chen remained by his side and leaned into God.
“I started studying the Bible, and before I know it, God is changing me from the inside out,” she recalled.

“[Chen] got baptized in 2022 and now belongs to five churches, believes that her story serves as proof that ‘it is never too late for anyone to start a personal relationship with God…Once you do, you’ll have peace that transcends all understanding. You’re not alone,'” PEOPLE reported.
She eventually was able to reconcile with her colleagues, saying, “I don’t know if I could’ve reconciled if I didn’t have God in my life.”
God also used that time to strengthen the couple’s marriage.
“We have such a strong bond. We leaned on each other, and we knew that nothing could break us. It was our love and our foundation that got us through,” Chen Moonves said.
