Popstar and outspoken Christian Justin Bieber teamed with an unidentified pastor to visit California State Prison in Lancaster, CA, a prison in the Antelope Valley north of Los Angeles with 3,000 inmates.
TMZ leaked pictures of Bieber arriving at the prison, but reports have yet to confirm whether the musician was there to share the Gospel or sing.
Bieber’s visit details were not revealed, but the “Holy” singer reportedly arrived in his tour bus for a “faith-based program.”
“The Warden of the institution approved a very brief visit by Mr. Bieber and his pastor to support faith-based programs at California State Prison, Los Angeles County,” a spokesperson for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation told Fox News.
Bieber and his wife, Hailey Baldwin, were married in 2018 and are members of Churchome.
Following the firing of Bieber’s former mentor Carl Lentz, who pastored Hillsong NYC, Bieber noted that his affiliation is with Churchome and not Hillsong.
“BTW Hillsong is not my church. For clarity I am a part of Churchome,” Bieber wrote on Instagram. “Church is not a place. We are the church. We don’t need a building to connect with God. God is with us wherever we are.”
He added: “The creator of the oceans and mountains also created you! You are a part of the plan, your life matters, He sees you! He’s been patient with you as you ran from Him awaiting your return! He’s not mad, He understands.”
Leading up to the release of Bieber’s new album, “Justice,” Bieber shared Gospel messages and scripture on his social media. Bieber’s Instagram reveals his commitment to helping others find the same faith and freedom that he has found in Jesus.
