Justin Bieber declared how the Lord leads his life and how he turns to Him for stability when chaos enters into his life.
“The lion. I believe my God is my lion. My strong leader! Able to fight for me on my behalf. I believe wherever I am, He is…” Bieber wrote on Instagram. “Through the chaos, somehow God always brings me back to Himself.”
Having been a part of the entertainment industry for over a decade, Bieber has come to realize that the Lord offers him so much more than anything the world could provide, even for those who are rich and famous. Though he had years where he allowed the temptations of the world to take over his life, he came to realize just how empty that lifestyle left him.
“There was a sense of still yearning for more,” Bieber explained in a GQ interview from 2021. “It was like I had all this success and it was still like: I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues. And I thought all the success was going to make everything good. And so for me, the drugs were a numbing agent to just continue to get through.”
Having found the Lord after living this life, Bieber encourages others to place their foundation on God, rather than things of the world, and realize that they have value, no matter what their past looked like. Through Christ, all things can be redeemed, and anyone can place their future in the hands of the Lord.
“People cannot assign value, they can only recognize it,” Bieber shared in 2021. “God is the only one who can assign value and if God says it, that settles it. You are valuable.”
“Your past, present and future is wiped clean by the forgiveness of Jesus,” he said in a later Instagram post. “You are free. Believe it and receive no strings attached.”
Bieber’s mentality of trusting the Lord with his future and letting go of his past life is very similar to that of Jelly Roll, who turned to the Lord after decades of drug abuse and jail time.
“I’ve made a lot of peace with my past. I mean, it still haunts me like the ghosts I know, but I tell you what, I don’t think about doing no drugs today,” Jelly Roll previously said. “As far as today goes, I don’t know about tomorrow, but I can tell you, today, right now, I’m happy.”
It is encouraging to see big artists both find the Lord and use their platforms to encourage others to place their lives in Christ’s hands, rather than pursue the follies of this world.
