Kat Von D Shares ‘Overwhelmingly Beautiful’ Response To Baptism

Kat Von D is opening up about the “overwhelmingly beautiful” response she received after getting baptized earlier this month.
“I really haven’t talked about it or posted anything since I posted the baptism video,” Von D started. “It’s pretty much because I’ve been taking my time processing the experience and some of the response and just putting my thoughts together.”
The former tattoo artist explained that she doesn’t plan on “talking too much about this in the future,” adding, “I don’t really feel equipped to be the poster child for Christianity. I’m still learning.”
Von D did share the responses she has received from people after being baptized.
“It was an overwhelmingly beautiful amount of positivity and love,” she said. “People were just coming out of nowhere and wanting to give me a hug and congratulate me and welcome me to the family.”
Von D called her baptism “a public demonstration of where I stand with my faith” and said she was “basically letting people know I’m not ashamed” of her faith.

Former tattoo artist Kat Von D shared a video of her baptism following a long journey of personal transformation after she renounced the occult and witchcraft last year.
She captioned the video with a cross.
“Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in obedience to His Divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” the pastor said before submerging a white robe-clad Von D.
Von D joyfully hugged him as she emerged from the water.
Von D began her faith journey in 2022 when she announced she was getting rid of anything in her life that was “macabre.”
“Today, I went through my entire library, and threw out books that just don’t align with who I am and who I want to be,” she wrote. “I’ve always found beauty in the macabre, but at this point, I just had to ask myself what is my relationship with this content? And the truth is, I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if it comes disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves.”
Von D has also spoken about her Christian upbringing. She was raised Seventh-Day-Adventist.
“Many people haven’t ever heard of that religion — it’s basically Christianity, with a few Jewish traits,” she wrote in an essay for PopSugar. “We kept the Sabbath, went to church on Saturdays, followed the ten commandments, and didn’t eat any pork or fish without scales (don’t ask).”
