Kathie Lee Gifford Reveals What Mother’s Day Gifts Make Her ‘Heart Sing’
By Movieguide® Contributor
This Mother’s Day, actress Kathie Lee Gifford is spending time with her kids and grandchildren.
“I told my kids every year don’t get me anything,” she told PEOPLE. “Just be with me. And we FaceTime almost every day, early in the morning, because they’ve got two little ones — my son does and Cassidy’s got one little one.”
The most special gifts that Gifford can receive are quality time and handmade mementos.
“They’re just precious. I’m long past ever wanting gifts unless they wanted to make Bubbe a little painting,” the former LIVE WITH REGIS AND KATHIE LEE host said. “And those kinds of things make my heart sing. I also love singing to them and making up naughty little songs.”
Movieguide® previously reported how Gifford embraces her “Bubbe” role:
The former TODAY show host previously announced the exciting news that her son, Cody, and his wife, Erika Brown, had a baby boy in May.
“It’s just beautiful,” Gifford told PEOPLE. “Everybody says it is. I FaceTime with him every day and he’s just a wonderment.
“He’s extraordinary,” she added. “And everybody thinks their own grandchild is the best in the world, so I won’t say anything other than they’re right, their grandchild is.
Gifford often shares her love for her family on social media.
In March, she shared family photos of her, her late husband and her son. She said, “So extraordinarily proud of our son. What a beautiful example for the world— a Godly man. I have stretch marks because of you! Happy Birthday Cody! ❤”
She also posted a picture of her grandson, Frankie, sporting some sunglasses.
“I am completely in love with freaking Frankie,” she said.
Another video features her and Frankie lying on a patio bed as they wave to “angels” above.
“Kisses for bubbe and hellos to angels ?,” she said.
