Kentucky Basketball Star Oscar Tshiebwe Shares Faith in Christ After Career Highs on the Court
By Movieguide® Staff
Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe recently posted a career-high 30 points in a tough loss against Arkansas, 75-73 on Saturday, Feb. 26.
No. 6 Kentucky relies on Tshiebwe’s nation-best 15.3 rebounds a game. However, after the team’s loss to No. 18 Arkansas, Kentucky dropped to second place in the SEC with a 12-4 record.
Tshiebwe did not have time to focus on the loss due to a sermon he preached the following day. The 22-year-old junior spoke at Broadway Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, to share his faith in Christ.
I just want to thank pastor Daniel and the @BroadwayLex church for allowed me to share my faith with all the people in the church, it was a very special day for me♥️ pic.twitter.com/zFZ0uomRz8

“We don’t need to fight for eternal life with God. It is a free gift from Christ. We already believe. Lots of people say you have to do this or you have to do this to enter the Kingdom of God — no. We just need to believe and trust in God. We have to surrender ourselves to God. We have to obey His Word,” Tshiebwe said.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo native uses social media to share Gospel truth and trust the Lord to bring his mother to the United States.
“For me, being in this place, it is a blessing,” he said last April. “It is hard work and believing in God because the best gifts always come from God.”
