Spin Master Corp, Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures have joined forces to adapt the popular children’s television show PAW PATROL into a feature-length movie. PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE features a star-studded cast as Kim Kardashian West, Tyler Perry, and Dax Shephard, among others, offer their voices to the project directed by Cal Brunker.
The Nickelodeon children’s program first launched in 2013 and saw significant success over the course of eight seasons. PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE is in the early stages of production with cast and crew working remotely.
Spin Master Entertainment’s EVP Jennifer Dodge is set to produce alongside co-founder and co-CEO of Spin Master, Ronnen Harary, and EVP of Strategic Partnership & Franchise Development for Spin Master Adam Beder.
“We are thrilled to partner with Paramount and Nickelodeon to bring the PAW Patrol franchise, and the characters that children love, to the big screen,” Dodge said. “This first foray into the arena of feature film marks a significant strategic expansion for Spin Master Entertainment and our properties. This demonstrates our commitment to harnessing our own internal entertainment production teams to develop and deliver IP in a motion picture format and allows us to connect our characters to fans through shared theatrical experiences.”
Brian Robbins, president for Kids & Family Entertainment at ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks, said they are excited by the prospect of the iconic series turning into a movie.
“Expanding PAW PATROL into the world of theatricals is a major milestone for this iconic property, and we can’t wait for kids and families everywhere to experience it together,” said Robbins. “We are incredibly excited to work with Spin Master Entertainment and our sister division Paramount Pictures on this latest title from the Nickelodeon Movies slate.”
Spin Master will produce in association with Nickelodeon Movies, and Paramount will distribute as production eyes an August 2021 release date.
“We are thrilled to be distributing this film and sharing the beloved PAW Patrol universe with audiences around the globe,” Marc Weinstock, Paramount’s president of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, said.
West previously expressed her desire to honor her husband and raise her children with strong morals. Hopefully, her involvement in the upcoming PAW PATROL movie will cater to the biblical values Movieguide® extols.
