KING OF QUEENS Cast Celebrates 25 Years, Talks Possible Reboot

The cast of the hit series KING OF QUEENS, including stars Leah Remini and Kevin James, recently met on Zoom to share memories and discuss a possible reboot.

During the question and answer time, the stars addressed rumors about a series reboot. Although the cast jumped at the idea, they confirmed that a reboot is not in the works.

“I will take Season 1 money. I’m serious. Like I said earlier, I was lucky enough to be able to do a show with Kevin two years ago and I was just ecstatic to be working with Kevin again. I’d cry more about that than the actual work,” Remini said, sharing her excitement at the idea of a reboot.

James also expressed, “I’d like to do another shot with the KING OF QUEENS group.”

The sitcom ran from 1998–2007. It followed “a delivery driver and his middle-class family in Queens, New York. Kevin James played Doug Heffernan; Leah Remini portrayed his wife, Carrie; and Carrie’s quirky father, Arthur, was played by the late Jerry Stiller.”

Remini shared how much she enjoyed working with James.

“Immediately, I was like I don’t care what the script is. I just love this guy so much,” the actress said. “Unlike most people who have done a show together, Kevin and I have stayed in touch, so we talk all the time. Always great to see you. I just love this guy so much.”

“I knew right away. We hit it off right away,” James added.

“Sometimes you just have an instant connection with people,” Remini explained.

The show celebrated its 25th anniversary on September 21. Remini took to X to celebrate.

“This week marks the 25th anniversary of the KING OF QUEENS…As soon as production started on season one, I knew I was home, and I am blessed to say I was part of a truly special show that went on for nine seasons and 207 episodes and still lives on successfully in syndication.  Our cast was amazing…Kevin James, Jerry Stiller, Gary, Patton, Victor, Nicole. They all made me laugh every day,” she wrote.

“25 years ago today, we aired. I am so incredibly blessed to have taken this ride with the insanely talented @leahremini and Jerry Stiller. I love you both so much… and thank you to the GREATEST FANS in the world…LOVE YOU!” James said on Instagram.
