CCM artist Lauren Daigle’s single “Thank God I Do” from her self-titled album recently hit number one on the Christian charts.
“Lauren Daigle’s ‘Thank God I Do’ ascends to No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay and Christian AC Airplay rankings dated July 29, as she scores a fivefold chart domination not achieved since her own ‘You Say’ over four years ago,” reported Billboard.
This comes after her self-titled album charted at No.1 on the Christian Albums chart this May, Billboard added. “Thank God I Do” marks Daigle’s fifth and sixth No.1 on the Billboard charts for Christian Airplay and Christian AC Airplay, respectively.
“Wow, just wow. It has been absolutely incredible seeing how people have connected to ‘Thank God I Do,’ and receiving the news that it has reached No. 1 at radio is so special. It means more than words to see the continued support and enthusiasm for this new music, which is so close to my heart,” Daigle shared, per Billboard.
The Louisiana native recently posted her latest music video for her song “These Are the Days”—a tune Daigle hopes will get people moving.
“These are the days we’ve been waiting for!! This one was SO special to film and is an explosion of exactly what I wanted this song to convey – color, joy, and hope! Now go watch it and dance around!” she posted on her Instagram.
Daigle also announced that she is releasing an extended version of her self-titled album on September 8 with 23 tracks.
“I worked on this art child of mine starting in October of 2020. Almost 3 years later, the FULL ALBUM WILL FINALLY BE HERE!!! I hope you like it, and I hope it brings you the joy that it has brought me through the course of some hard times!” she posted on her Instagram.
The “You Say” singer recently voiced her opinion on the hit movie THE SOUND OF FREEDOM and the controversy surrounding it, as some mainstream news outlets claim it promotes conspiracy theories around child sex trafficking. Movieguide® previously reported:
“This should never be up for debate! Children who are entrusted into the hands of adults, who are brought into this world by adults, these kids look up to adults to say ‘You’re my protector.’ And then the adults use that power and that privilege to completely obliterate the lives of others based upon greed.”
Daigle concluded, “God doesn’t take this stuff lightly. So for every person
who is out there that thinks that this movie is just stupid people trying to praise QAnon, or whatever the stupid conspiracy is, you got something else coming for you because this is not something that God takes lightly.”
